Choose a market you can understand
Define a photography niche, geographic reach, buyer, occasion, and desired result. A useful starting position is narrow enough to research and communicate but not a permanent creative prison.
Put it into practice: Interview ten potential clients and several referral partners about how they choose, what worries them, and which alternatives they use.
Useful evidence: Repeated problems, real inquiries, deposits, and paid bookings are stronger than compliments or follower counts.
